Dr Jennifer Chan
General Adult and Perinatal Psychiatrist / Psychotherapist
Jennifer is a General and Perinatal Psychiatrist / Psychotherapist with a special interest in the assessment and care of people with relational difficulties, anxiety, depression and a history of trauma. She is also passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of young adults and women/couples during the perinatal period.
Jennifer completed her medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2005 then trained in psychiatry within the South East Sydney network. She completed her advanced training in youth mental health, perinatal psychiatry, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Jennifer obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). She has also undertaken sub-speciality training in Psychotherapies with the RANZCP and is a member of the Faculty of Psychotherapy.
Jennifer has been in private practice in Randwick since May 2016 and had previously been a part of Red Tree Practice in Surry Hills. She had also worked as a Staff Specialist at the Royal Hospital for Women and Prince of Wales Hospital and is currently a consultant psychiatrist with a Youth Mental Health Team with NSW Health.
Jennifer aims to formulate an individualised care plan in collaboration with her patients following a thorough clinical assessment, which may take place over a few sessions. She is currently accepting new referrals for perinatal mental health.
